linkTEK™ is L-3
Geneva's communication solution that blends both line-of-sight
(LOS) and beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) communications into
a single data router that can handle your data telemetry
and video telemetry needs. linkTEK uses standard
TCP/IP and UDP/IP communications that enables multi-vehicle
control. Data and video can be configured independently to
be sent to specific IP addresses. Data is provided to linkTEK via
one of four externally available Ethernet ports, all attached
to a common Ethernet switch enabling linkTEK to
be networked multiple devices simultaneously.
linkTEK comes internally equipped with an 802.11b communication
module that provides high rate LOS data link with an appropriately
equipped control station. The unit comes either equipped with an
internal signal amplifier or with an external connection for a
user supplied amplifier.
The optional BLOS capability is enabled through up to four
satellite communication modems that are externally attached
to linkTEK via four available RS232 ports. With the
BLOS capability enabled, you can communicate with your vehicle
from any Internet connection in the world*. If an Internet
connection is not available at your control station location,
a BLOS equipped linkTEK; can be attached to your control
station to provide the desired BLOS vehicle link.
To provision for your video transmission needs, linkTEK can
be optionally configured with an internal JPEG2000 compression
module which interfaces with any NTSC capable video device.
This module digitizes the input video which is then transmitted
to predefined recipients over the LOS or BLOS link.
